Find out what you should you do if you receive an IRS Letter.
If you were an “applicable large employer” (ALE) in 2015, be on the lookout for an Employer Shared Responsibility Penalty (ESRP) letter from the IRS. It will be an IRS Letter 226J. The 2015 information reporting process had a lot of glitches (remember the IRS electronic filing issues?), so some employers who thought they correctly reported might receive IRS 226J letters. Learn how to respond, how to complete IRS Forms 14764 & 14765 and what to do if you receive Letter 227 K or L.
If you do receive a 226J letter, you must respond within 30 days!
Paid Family Leave
Starting January 1, 2018, the New York State Paid Family Leave Program will provide New Yorkers job-protected, paid leave to bond with a new child, care for a family member with a serious health condition or to help relieve family pressures when someone is called to active military service. Lisa Allen brings over 25+ years of employee benefits experience, 20 with Relph Benefit Advisors, to her role as the legal and regulatory compliance subject matter expert. Lisa manages Federal and State regulatory updates. She provides client council regarding the Affordable Care Act and managing employee eligibility.
Lisa has been a speaker for the WNY NHRA, Allegany Chamber of Commerce, New York State SHRM Conference, Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce, Rochester and Buffalo Chapters of the National Association of Health Underwriters, Benefit Advisors Network, (BAN), ECFC and ISCEBS Symposiums. Lisa is the Chair of the BAN Compliance Committee, and a Member of the ECFC Conference Committee.
In January 2017 Lisa Allen was appointed as one of only seven from across the nation to serve a three-year term on the IRS Information Reporting Program Advisory Committee (IRPAC). She also was appointed to the Employer Information Reporting and Reduction/Burden sub-committee. The committee members provide constructive observations and recommendations regarding current programs, and procedures, and propose improvements to information reporting operations and the Employer Information Reporting Program through an annual final report presented to the IRS Commissioner.
