Lisa Allen of Relph Benefit Advisors Appointed to IRS IRPAC Committee

Lisa Allen, Vice President of Regulatory Compliance, Relph Benefit AdvisorsLisa Allen, CHRS, CFC, CAS VP Regulatory Affairs is one of only seven from across the nation, newly appointed as members to serve a three-year term on the IRS Information Reporting Program Advisory Committee (IRPAC).

IRPAC, which meets regularly in Washington, is a federal advisory committee that advises the IRS on various tax administration and reporting. IRPAC members present their annual report to the IRS Commissioner at a public meeting each October.

Lisa has also been appointed to Employer Information Returns/Burden Reduction (EIRBR) subgroup.

The Advisory committee provides a means by which the best resources and experience available in all fields of business and professions can be made available to the Federal government at little cost. Section 2 of the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA), states:  “The Congress finds that there are numerous committees, boards, commissions, councils and similar groups which have been established to advise officers and agencies in the executive branch of the Federal government and that they are frequently a useful and beneficial means of furnishing expert advice, ideas, and diverse opinions to the Federal government.”

Advisory committee members provide constructive observations regarding current or proposed IRS policies, programs, and procedures, and propose improvements to information reporting operations and the Information Reporting Program through a final report. IRPAC also responds to draft regulations and notices through comment letters.
